Car tests and trials

We test our seats extensively to ensure the safety our children need.

In the modern facilities at Motorland we carry out impact tests in accordance with the ECE standard, both for homologation and production control. Our aim is to guarantee the highest quality of each and every Babyauto baby car seat, in which millions of children travel every day on European roads.

Our car seats are tested and approved according to international standards.

We are directly involved in child safety, which is why all our products follow rigorous processes such as crash tests, which we carry out in independent laboratories.

We know that, both in the city and on longer journeys, unforeseen events can occur during the journey.

Our goal is to always ensure that the protection offered by our child restraint systems is comprehensive protection for the little ones, regardless of the direction of the impact or the type of collision they must withstand.

This is why our safety seats are subjected to constant impact tests or crash tests, at speeds higher than those required by ECE approval regulations.

Therefore, the seats are subjected to maximum deceleration tests, withstanding forces greater than 30 or 40 g, equivalent to a frontal impact against a tree or a fixed element.

Only in this way can we ensure that the most sensitive areas of the body, in the event of an accident, will be fully protected.

Once we have verified that car seat complies with the ECE, CCC or National Regulations governing CRSs in the country of use, the seats must first pass type approval tests and then production qualification (PQ) tests before being launched on the market.

In addition to meeting all these safety requirements, car seats are regularly subjected to a new test called COP (Conformity of Production) to confirm that production series does not show any differences and seats produced are exactly the same as first seats approved in the approval tests.

In addition to this strict internal control, we test on various consumer organisations and external laboratories where our car seats are regularly subjected to additional controls.

This way we can guarantee an extra and continuous quality of our products, both in terms of safety and comfort for the child.

Responsible Security

Integrated technology

Our commitment is to create functional, comfortable, functional, comfortable but above all safe.

This innovative design of our car seats would be worthless if we did not guarantee best safety conditions for our little ones. That is why we take care to adapt harmony, comfort and design to the latest technologies with elements such as lsofix anchorages, Top tether or side protection systems.

These components make our car seats safer and safer each year.

In addition, to ensure that children travel as comfortably as possible, we have protected the sensitive areas, those in direct contact with the little ones, reinforcing them with padding and using textiles free of toxic compounds.

We are responsible and we want to get involved with families. We always try to adjust our car seats in terms of price, always achieving best quality and technology, so most of children who travel in the car can do it in the safest way possible.

This is a seat anchorage system that considerably reduces installation errors risks when compared to the classic installation using vehicle’s seat belt to secure the car seat.

This type of anchorage system allows easier installation for adults and, by extension, greater protection and safety for the child.

Top tether is used to support the upper part of the seat to prevent forward rotational movement.

Generally, we choose this anti-rotation system over others such as the support leg, which may be limited if the vehicle has storage compartments in the vehicle floor that prevent a firm support of the leg.

Side protection is becoming increasingly important, as it is vital to protect the child in the event of this kind of impacts. For this reason, our latest seats include a reinforcement system on the sides of the backrest and headrest in order to absorb generated forces in a side impact, protecting the most sensitive areas of child’s body and head.

It is designed as a complement to group 1 child restraint systems that are installed using the vehicle’s seat belt.

This installation combines ISOCLICK FIX® anchorages with the vehicle’s own seat belt as an anti-rotation element.

This combination of both elements provides greater stability to the seat and at the same time, provides an extra protection to the seat so energy from the impact on the child is considerably reduced.

European i-Size Regulation

What does i-Size mean for Babyauto child seats?

A new standard for safer child restraint systems based on child's height, rather than weight.

i-Size is the name of most recent regulation approved by UNECE, also called R129. This normative regulates the mandatory extension of the backwards traveling time to 15 months and classifies car seats according to the child’s height in centimetres.

At Babyauto we support this new regulation, as it represents a considerable improvement in child travel safety and we are currently developing new systems in accordance with i-Size guidelines.

Babyauto i-Size car seats must be installed in vehicles with Isofix system, which makes easier a correct and safe installation. Each i-Size car seat fits perfectly in every i-Size car.

Body size classification(in centimetres) simplifies the choice of correct i-Size car seat and guarantees a precise fit.

All i-Size approved car seats must be able to perform a side impact test to ensure their additional safety.

New Q-series dummies allows for an even more detailed analysis of crash-relevant data that even more detailed analysis of crash-relevant data which contributes to improving child safety and protection in a crucial way.

For better child’s head and neck protection, rearward-facing installation is mandatory up to a minimum of 15 months when using an i-Size car seat.

New standard for car seats, ECE Regulation 129 known as i-Size, does not replace ECE Regulation 44(R44), but accompanies it. I-Size seats can be used up to child’s maximum height (natural standing height) specified by the seat manufacturer.
